The November Unified School District invites proposals for planning grants to develop new secondary schools in the district. Design Teams receiving planning grants will then have six months to develop a business plan for the start-up and implementation of the new secondary school. Implementation grants will then be awarded to selected teams who most meet the districts goal of meeting the needs of all students and providing students with a 21^st century education.

Planning Grant proposals will be presented on Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at 2 pm to a special district panel led by Co-Superintendents Elliot Washor and Bob Pearlman and including education experts from England, Northern Ireland, Australia, Canada, Ohio, Texas, Alaska, Michigan, New York, Illinois, Massachusetts, and Washington, DC. Proposals must specify the new secondary school’s design criteria, design principals, design elements (program), and the physical facility, the learning environments, and the technologies and technology applications that support the education design.
